We envision a society where each individual is a ‘changemaker’. Since children are our future, therefore creating an enabling environment for them to grow as mindful learners to understand and appreciate the need and ways of creating change.
We are constantly developing our curriculum to raise. The consciousness that needs to be raised without fail and in urgency as developing a sense of belonging to something greater than yourself is as important as DEVELOPING AS AN INDIVIDUAL
Our active learners as well as our graduated students are part of our ‘changemakers community’. Together, we are treading the path less trodden, the path which will lead to sustainable happiness, personal efficacy, identity & moral development. The activities that we conduct with our children will not only enable them to become finer individuals, but will also enhance their prospects for their future choices.
The exposure which we envision of our children will provide them a platform to place themselves as confident global citizens.
Through our programs, we envision to instil
A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED....with us it goes opposite, our volunteer group offers us help-technologically, artistically and at any length to execute the planned performances effectively and then they become our friends forever! As of now our team of volunteers include-
Small yet strong, we make an enthusiastic team and make our young learners grasp myriad ways of self-expressions and communication.
Collaboration is a word dear to us so much so that we owe the very existence of our organisation to this word `COLLABORATION`-Collaboration with like-minded thinkers and doers. We are well aware that we get empowered only by empowering others & so we are always looking for people who are already talking and tackling the issues that we care about and ask them how they can help. We keep identifying organisations and centres which are aggressively contributing in positive changes in the world that peripheries us-social, cultural & environmental.
Empathy and Young Changemakers- A century ago, society needed everyone to be literate and now it needs everyone to cope with the rapid and constant change and in this process build a strong empathy for the people struggling hard to be in pace due to their physical or financial inabilities. We, together with our partners who are already taking care of the underprivileged section of our society, wish to make sincere efforts to make them active changemakers through our curriculum teaching…free of charge.
Libraries provide access to information to children and young adults making them conscious of the happenings in their world. The skilled professionals there assist the young patrons to evaluate information. We are looking to initiate programs where we can bring in our children to start Book Tribes and Reading Socials-to discuss writers and thinkers who have initiated change across the world.
These places provide some immersive learning experience of getting connected to the pasts and presents of this world. Often children while visiting such venues ask questions that leave skilled adults spellbound and also to cut a sorry figure in front of them- one such question is why did we let certain species go extinct...why didn’t we do enough to save them? Art centres collaborations could help us showcase the work of our children. We could also participate or partner in events where our members can talk about social change and inspire the visitors. Effective collaboration can lead to a huge wave and impression in our societies.
Although generation X & Y is so much into science and technology still there is a need to imbibe them with gratitude for the gift of sciences both physical & natural for making our lives comfortable. Visiting these centres evoke curiosity among our learners and we find them discussing the things they plan to invent for a sustainable future. (Of Course, after telling them about the pros and cons of inventions they are excited about!) We seek to take our children from an underprivileged background to visit such places where their tender minds can think of innovations which can help eradicate or minimise their problems in their own little ways. Who knows one such innovative idea would change the world at large?
Accepting no matter how hard this fact is-Children are the least responsible for climate change, yet they will bear the greatest burden of its impact & then making children understand about their role and contribution whatsoever little, as agents of change is becoming crucial to survival! Agencies such as these provide young learners to witness exhibits and hand on learning. We would like to propose intern opportunities for our children to extend help at such offices. We would also like to host CAMPS for visitors to discuss environmental problems and their effective solutions which could be practiced conveniently. Such opportunities will enable our children to actively bear their responsibilities as young global citizens.
PUBLIC AND PRIVATE We understand the power to initiate and implement any change can only happen if we have masses with us. If the schools (Government and Private) and other ACADEMIC institutions would support us to run our programs on their campus, then the word sustainable would be second nature to our young generation.
Schools for Specially Abled, Orphanage & Senior Citizen Homes-Sensitizing children of their world`s social, cultural and environmental whereabouts is one of the primary mottos of Mugdha`s Initiative. After their visits to these centres, we found our children showing enhanced care and concerns for the underprivileged.... lessons of coexistence and empathy learnt well.
